Dairy cooperative, Arla Foods, has been awarded the John Beckett Memorial Cup at the British Dairying Cream Awards 2021. The accolade which is given to the winner of the award for Overall Dairy Company of the Year is widely acknowledged as the most esteemed in the industry, taking into consideration production, operations and welfare across the nation’s top dairy businesses.

Dairy cooperative, Arla Foods, has been working with animal behavioural science and technology partners FAI Farms, Nedap and Alta Genetics to determine how, exactly, to measure the happiness of a cow. The project is being driven with the knowledge that the wellbeing of herds is determined by how they are managed within a given environment, rather than which type of production system the farm operates. The cumulative data is helping Arla and the wider dairy industry create a ‘happy cow measure’, which, for the first time in industry history, looks to automate the measurement of mental wellbeing for cows.

Arla Foods’ on-account prices for conventional and organic milk will remain unchanged from 1 February 2021. This means that Arla’s conventional milk price will remain at 29.58 pence and organic milk 37.94 pence per litre for Arla’s farmer owners.

While lockdown life has placed even more emphasis on the food we eat and where it comes from, it seems a whole generation of children risk missing key information on how their food is produced. Not only are 1 in 5¹ kids unaware of where food like dairy comes from, but they are also unsure about food nutrition, meaning they risk being poorly equipped to make sensible, healthy choices later in life.

Arla Foods’ on-account prices for conventional and organic milk will remain unchanged for December 2020.

This means that Arla’s manufacturing price for conventional milk will remain at 30.66 pence per litre and the organic price 39.02 ppl for Arla’s farmer owners.

When applied to the manufacturing price, Arla’s pence per litre for conventional milk will be 30.66 pence and the organic price 39.02 ppl for Arla’s farmer owners.

Arla Foods’ on-account prices for conventional and organic milk will increase by 0.5 euro cents per kilo, from 1 October 2020.  This month is also positively impacted by a 0.06 p/kg, quarterly currency adjustment bringing in a total increase to 0.50 pence per kilo. When applied to the manufacturing price, Arla’s pence per litre for conventional milk will be 29.76 pence and the organic price 38.12 ppl for Arla’s farmer owners.
