Milk price for August 2023 will remain unchanged for conventional and organic milk

From 1st August 2023, the Arla on-account price for conventional and organic milk will remain unchanged.

This means the UK manufacturing price for conventional and organic milk will be 35.12ppl and 40.79ppl respectively.

Arla to power UK operations with two new solar parks

Arla, the UK’s largest dairy cooperative, in partnership with ENGIE and Infinis, has announced the signing of two new solar parks under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which will supply around 20% of the energy needed to power Arla’s entire UK operation* from renewable sources. 

The new solar parks will be operational from Boston (Lincolnshire) and Offham (Kent) during 2024. Together the sites are set to generate around 23,000 MWh of energy and create savings of approximately 4,439t of CO2* a year.  

Both solar parks are being created on sites previously used as landfill, which forms part of an initiative to generate more clean energy and make a positive impact on the environment.

Milk price for July 2023 will remain unchanged for conventional and organic milk

From 1st July 2023, the Arla on-account price for conventional and organic milk will remain unchanged. However, the quarterly currency exchange rate adjustment negatively impacts the on-account price by 0.09ppl.

This means the UK manufacturing price for conventional and organic milk will be 35.12ppl and 40.79ppl respectively.

  • Lurpak is investing in price and promotions across major supermarkets – including 250g and 750g spreadable options - but shelf prices are ultimately set by retailers
  • Lurpak will replace its 500g spreadable pack with a 400g spreadable option – and the price has also been lowered by 20% to make sure shoppers don’t lose out
  • These changes have been driven by research with over 2,500 shoppers to understand the best pack size and pricing options to help cash strapped shoppers
